2016 GHJA Grand Finale and Finals
When: November 17-20, 2016
Where: Will's Park
We look forward to bringing you the GHJA Finale Horse Show and Finals, to be held this year at Wills Park Equestrian Center, November 17-20, 2016. Last year was a great show and we look forward to another one.
· Thursday, Friday and Saturday is a regular horse show. You do not need to qualify to attend. Please join us for a top notch show with top notch judges. If you end up in the top 10 in the points in a division it will give you a Wild Card slot in the Derby class on Sunday. In addition this year we will be awarding three new awards based solely on points gathered on Friday and Saturday. These three awards are Best Child Rider on a Pony, Best Child Rider on a Horse, and Best Adult Rider on a Horse. These awards will be presented Sunday morning during the GHJA Medal Finals. Specifications for these awards will be in the prizelist. Also, High Point Hunter award will be awarded to the horse with the most points in divisions ridden on Friday and Saturday.
· The Best Hunter Under Saddle class will return for this show. It was such a success last year that we can’t wait to see who the best mover is this year. We will take the 1st and 2nd place winner of every hunter division under saddle class to make up the participants of this class. Yes, ponies and horses!
· Sunday will be our Year End Final show. It will be the qualifiers of the medals time to shine. The GHJA Equitation Challenge will also take place that morning and we hope that every will come out to watch and support the rider’s who have qualified for these prestigious local medals.
· Sunday afternoon will be the Hunter Derby classes offered to the respective divisions. Riders qualify in two ways. A rider either has to be in the top 10 in the year end points or qualify as a Wild Card (as explained above). Riders will ride a standard Classic course and the top 12 scores will return to ride a Handy Course.
This is just a snapshot of all that is going on. Breakfast will be served every morning, cocktail party Friday night, dinner Saturday night, a draw party for the medal finalists and it goes on and on.
We can't wait for everyone to join us this November!
